1 Samuel 1:27 “I
prayed for this child, and the Lord has granted me what I
asked of him.”
PHILIP MICHAEL BAO
Born on March 19, 2005 in Henan Province.
After waiting for almost 2 years from beginning the
process to adopt from China and 22 years from the time we
first began to long for a second child, we received the
wonderful news that China had accepted our Letter of
Intent to adopt Dong Bao on April 17, 2008. Then came the
fast and even more wonderful news on May 1, 2008 that our
agency had received our Letter of Acceptance from China.
This meant that the Chinese Center for Adoption Affairs (CCAA)
had reviewed all of our documents previously sent and
accepted them so that we could adopt our son. We are now
awaiting our Travel Arrangements and Chinese Consulate
appointment. We will be there soon Philip!
We had originally applied to adopt a healthy female infant
when we started this adoption process, but over time God
turned our hearts and our eyes to the Waiting Children’s
List. Day after day, month after month, we poured over the
sweet faces of the many beautiful children pictured. Then
one day in late March of this year, after about a year of
daily checking the list, we came upon Dong Bao’s picture.
It was love at first sight. We just knew he was the one
God had chosen to be our son and brother.
We have chosen our son’s first name, Philip, because Phil
is Janet’s father’s middle name. Philip’s middle name
Michael is Kevin’s middle name, and Bao is Philip’s
Chinese middle name.
The information we received about Philip from China stated
that he is active, energetic, outgoing, and restless.
Sounds like his dad! What a perfect match for our family! |
