In China
All Days  |  Previous Day  |  Next Day

Today was a slow paced, laid back day. We did a little touring around Guangzhou this morning. We went to a museum with built around a tomb. There were many artifacts, pottery, and jade found in the tomb.

Next, we went to a park. The girls had fun. There were people playing hacky-sack, and a vendor spend a lot of time with Camille and Caitlin. Of course, I had to buy it for them! We then played a bit longer, and also watched a bunch of ladies practicing ball room dancing. Sort of felt like "Dancing with the Stars - Guangzhou style". We just hung out room, and also went into the hotel garden to play with the bubbles, and the hacky sack. Dinner out at an Irish pub this evening.

More and more of Caitlin's personality is emerging. She is energetic, talkative, playful, and energetic (oh, I already mentioned that). I think she fits in perfectly with my girls. She likes to tease Camille, and is a little rough. Caitlin will push her, or slap her on the bottom. Camille gets really angry. Caitlin is really trying to communicate with us, and gets frustrated when we don't understand her. She seems to understand some of what we are saying. Later, we were resting and I was on the bed, and Caitlin crawled in and cuddled with me. It was so sweet. Of course, then Camille wanted to lay down with me also. However, I do think the jealousy/rivalry was a little bit less today, and I think playing hacky sack really helped.

We all took turns doing each others hair this evening. Camille wanted "crazy hair", and Caitlin gave me a cute hairdo also. It was a really nice day. The only bad part was were expecting to meet another adopted Mom, traveling with her teen, adopting an 8 year old. Their flight from the province to Guangzhou was cancelled and they were rebooked on a later flight. I was looking forward to some adult conversation, and Claire was looking for some teen conversation. Hopefully, they arrived ok tonight, and we can meet up with them on Saturday.

Our only appointment tomorrow is meeting with Richard in the early afternoon to work on the US Consulate paperwork.
