Today was a shopping day. We started off at the Pearl Market,
after walking by shops that sold "things" on a stick...mostly
squid I think. We also saw the famous coffee shop that sell "Cat
Poop Coffee". Num Num! The girls got some pearl earrings.
Then
it was on to Shamian Island. It has changed alot since 2004.
There are cute statues all over the place, and the walking areas
seem bigger, nicer than before. The White Swan is totally
enclosed in green net and scafolding. Lucy's looked the same.
There were several brides and grooms getting their professions
pictures taken. We did some shopping. The girls got traditional
silk dresses, which the had to rush home to try on! So pretty!
Then it was outside for our routine fish feeding and play time
with all of our adoptive family friends. The kids all feed the
fish, and play with bubbles, and play hackey sack. The hackey
sack thing even fell in with the fish this afternoon, so we had
some pond wading action to retrieve it. The parents can all chat
while the kids run around and play.
Bath time and early to bed
tonight. Tomorrow we have to be up super early....Consulate
appointment at the US Embassy at 8:30am.
Also, thanks to everyone who leaves a note. I read them all, and
appreciate all the comments. Keep 'em coming! I am really
enjoying this trip, but it is getting long, and I am ready to go
home. |
