Another busy day of sightseeing! Joy keeps us busy from morning until evening. Today started out with the Museum of Urban Planning. This gives you a good idea of the immense size of Beijing with all kinds of cool maps that you can walk on or above. You can clearly see the “Old city”, walls, and it gives you a good idea of the layout.

Next, we headed to Tiananmen Square, and then into the Forbidden City. It is really cold here, but my Minnesota raised girls are loving it! Both girls had more fun playing with the remaining patches of ice, than paying a lot of attention to the historical sights.

After the Forbidden City, we headed to the Olympic sight, and saw the Bird’s Nest and Water Cube. Then on to the Summer Palace. The Summer Palace is not so impressive in the winter, but again, my girls were attracted to the people out walking and sliding on the ice. They wanted to go down to the lake and “boot slide”!

Next, it was an acrobatic show, followed by a Peking Duck dinner.
