On 11/1/05 sent 12 docs to Assistant Stork
to get authenticated at US Department of
State and Chinese embassy. We should have
them back by November 10.
Name idea...how about something easy? Well
last night 11/4/05 a new name came to
mind....Edye Margaret or Edie Margaret. I
looked up Edye and found it meant blessed or
treasured and Margaret means treasured pearl
or pure spirited. Well it seemed like a
lovely name to me, at least an idea of a
name. When Mel got home from South Carolina
I anxiously shared the name with him...."why
Margaret?" he said and I explained the
significance. He then said where did Edye
come from; I commented short for Edith...his
Aunts name. "Oh yeah that is nice", "but
let's not make it too difficult for her". "
How about something easy?" Well needless to
say I laughed, finding a name is a journey
and looking through various names and
considering them is so much fun. I think
names are a little like shopping to men,
just pick the name and move on....but I am
enjoying the journey. One thing we do know
per Mel..."Tricksy, Bambi and Thumper" are
out. According to him..."we don't need
problems like that".
On 11/9/05 nothing from Stork! Should have
documents back by 11/18.
On 11/10/05 called and left message for USCIS
concerning our I171H.
On 11/14/05 received call from Jeanine at
USCIS in Memphis and she said they would not
look at our documents until 11/28/05.
On 11/18/05 received all 12 documents back
from Stork. Very Exciting! Almost done.
On 11/27/05 arrived home from Abington and
we had received I171H from Memphis on
11/25/05. AWESOME! Santa came a little
early for us, it only took 45 days!
On 11/28/05 got I171H notarized and
certified in Cleveland. Drove to Nashville
in horrible weather and got it authenticated
at Department of State. Made copies and
then sent it fedex to courier in DC
Dependable-ACS for authentication at US
Department of State and Chinese Embassy.
Long 12 hour day!
On 11/29/05 received word from Carol at the
courier that our I171H was authenticated and
we will receive it in the AM on 11/30.
Finished up pictures.
On 11/30/05 received I171H from the courier,
took picture of fedex driver. Made copies
and assembled all packets and wrote cover a
letter. Picked up some last minute photos
at Walmart. Mel drove me to Fedex in
Chattanooga and now our dossier is on its
way to Holt International and then to
China! The real wait begins! |
